Independent thinking. Documented evidence.

Clarity behind
the biotech story.

Biotech is complex. The evidence should be clear. We examine clinical trials, scientific claims, and company disclosures to help you see the whole picture.

Why We Exist

A closer look.
A clearer perspective.

Small biotech companies operate in highly technical environments where investors may struggle to independently evaluate scientific claims. Promotional narratives travel fast; primary-source evidence moves slowly.

Pharma Investgator analyzes primary-source evidence — trial registries, filings, publications, and data — rather than relying on promotional presentations. Every material conclusion we publish is tied to a document you can inspect yourself.

FICTIONAL ILLUSTRATION · Q3 EARNINGS DECK · REVIEWED

“Our Phase 2 program demonstrated strong efficacy trends across key measures, with a robust response observed in biomarker-positive patients…”

“We remain on track for a pivotal readout in H2, supporting our peak-sales assumptions.”

PI-REVIEW ▸ Primary endpoint p = 0.062 (not significant) ▸ Subgroup post-hoc, unpowered ▸ Registry shows two timeline revisions. Claims require further verification.
1Endpoint framing. “Trends” presented where the primary endpoint missed significance.
2Subgroup emphasis. Exploratory analysis promoted to headline status.
3Timeline narrative. “On track” conflicts with registry history. We read the footnotes.
Scope of Investigation

What We Investigate

Six evidence domains. One standard: claims must be supported by primary-source documentation.

01

Clinical Trials

Registered protocols vs. reported outcomes. Endpoint history, design changes, enrollment, timelines, and statistical results reconstructed from primary records.

02

Scientific Claims

Mechanism-of-action assertions, publication quality, preclinical-to-clinical translation, and whether the science supports the story being sold.

03

SEC Disclosures

Filings, risk factors, and MD&A language compared against clinical reality. Inconsistencies between disclosure and evidence are flagged and documented.

04

Management Statements

Earnings calls, CEO interviews, and press-release quotes verified against independent evidence. Promotional language is tested, not taken at face value.

05

Regulatory Risk

FDA correspondence, pathway assumptions, trial holds, and approval probability. Regulatory history is reconstructed before market narratives are trusted.

06

Commercial Assumptions

Addressable population, competition, standard of care, pricing, reimbursement, and manufacturing feasibility — tested against clinical evidence.

How We Work

Good research follows
a clear process.

Six careful steps, from the first question to a documented conclusion.

01 Claim Isolated

Identify the Claim

A specific, testable statement is extracted from an investor deck, earnings call, press release, or filing — quoted verbatim, with source and date.

02 Sources Located

Locate the Primary Evidence

We go to the primary record: trial registries, FDA documents, publications, patents, and filings. Secondary reporting is never the basis for a conclusion.

03 Story Reconstructed

Reconstruct the Clinical Story

Endpoint history, protocol amendments, enrollment, timelines, and design changes are rebuilt chronologically to reveal what changed — and when.

04 Statistics Analyzed

Analyze the Statistics

Significance vs. clinical relevance. Sample size, power, missing data, patient selection, and subgroup analyses are examined without deference to the press release.

05 Disclosure Compared

Compare Disclosure vs. Evidence

What the company told investors is set against what the data shows. Material inconsistencies are documented — in careful, evidence-based language.

06 Findings Published

Publish the Findings

Every report states what supports the company, what contradicts it, and what remains unresolved — with a full source appendix. Trust the evidence, not the promotion.

Trial enrolled only 34 patients. Limited statistical power for confirmatory claims.
Primary endpoint narrowly missed statistical significance (p = 0.062).
Company highlighted an exploratory subgroup — post-hoc and unpowered.
Investor presentation omitted the failed primary endpoint — a material inconsistency in disclosure.
Phase 3 assumptions rely heavily on the subgroup result. Commercial case is built on the weakest evidence in the dataset.
